AFMLSSA

The African Federation of Medical Laboratory Science Students’ Associations (AFMLSSA), led by His Excellency, Chukwu Joshua Christopher, is a non-governmental continental organization founded in 2022 by visionary national leaders and medical laboratory science students across Africa.

AFMLSSA was established to unite medical laboratory science students across the continent and empower them to lead initiatives that positively impact their communities. The organization was officially launched on 30th October, 2024, in collaboration with Africa society for laboratory medicine (ASLM) and its secretariat is located in Abuja, Nigeria. AFMLSSA is duly registered and certified by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  1. Unifying Medical Laboratory Science Students: Creating a forum where students across Africa collaborate on global health challenges while equipping themselves with the knowledge, skills, and values to take on leadership roles.
  2. Driving Community Impact: Leading initiatives that positively impact African communities through medical laboratory science.
  3. Capacity Building: Providing students with training, projects, and exchange opportunities to enhance their professional growth.
  4. Promoting Collaboration: Working with external partners to bridge the gap between academia and professional practice.
  5. Embracing Diversity: Encouraging cultural diversity in shaping a sustainable and healthy future for Africa.
