Public health laboratories (PHLs) routinely handle biological specimens, reagents, and chemicals that may expose staff and communities to infectious hazards. Uganda’s Ministry of Health has instituted measures to strengthen biorisk management (BRM); however, evidence on the level of BRM performance and determinants of good practice remains limited.
