I am Dr. Imomoemi Nwinam Thompson, a Medical Laboratory Scientist, healthcare leader, and corporate trainer with over a decade of experience in diagnostics, quality management, and healthcare workforce development. I currently serve as the Head of Diagnostics at NNPC Medical Services Limited, Port Harcourt, where I lead laboratory operations and drive excellence in quality, patient safety, and service delivery.
I also serve as the Quality Management Systems (QMS) Team Lead and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Team Lead, providing strategic oversight for quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance, and patient safety systems within the organization.
I hold a PhD in Medical Laboratory Science and an MBA, and I am a PECB-certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer. My professional focus is on building efficient, standard-driven healthcare systems and strengthening workforce capacity through structured training and mentorship.
I have facilitated multiple high-impact training programs across healthcare and other institutions, equipping professionals with practical, competency-based skills in laboratory practice, leadership, quality systems, infection prevention and preventive healthcare. My teaching approach is structured, results-oriented, and aligned with global best practices.
As the Founder of Emi Consulting Limited, I extend my impact beyond the laboratory by simplifying laboratory science and health information for the public while, providing career development support for medical laboratory scientists and allied health professionals, helping them navigate opportunities within and beyond traditional clinical roles.
I am committed to advancing diagnostic excellence, strengthening healthcare systems, and developing a future-ready healthcare workforce through education, leadership, and innovation.
