Dr. Benson Musinguzi is a distinguished Biomedical Scientist and Medical Microbiologist with expertise in pathogen genomics, antimicrobial resistance, and laboratory quality assurance. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (Medical Microbiology) from Makerere University, Uganda, with research focusing on oropharyngeal candidiasis in people living with HIV. Currently serving as Chief Laboratory Technician at Muni University, he plays a pivotal role in laboratory supervision, research, and teaching.
Dr. Musinguzi has an extensive academic background, multiple certifications in biosafety, biosecurity, and molecular biology, and is an active researcher with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of various professional bodies, including the Mycoses Study Group, African Society of Laboratory Medicine, and the International Federation of Biosafety Associations.
