MLSOnline2: Urinalysis & Body Fluids

About Course
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the “liquid biopsy,” focusing on the production, analysis, and clinical significance of urine and other body fluids. As an MLS student or professional, you will bridge the gap between renal physiology and bedside diagnosis, mastering the technical skills required to detect metabolic and systemic diseases.
Key Learning Objectives:
Renal Physiology: Correlate nephron function with the body’s ability to maintain homeostasis and filter waste.
Analytical Mastery: Perform physical, chemical, and microscopic examinations with an emphasis on quality control and interference detection.
Clinical Correlation: Identify markers for renal pathology, such as glomerular disorders, tubular necrosis, and urinary tract infections.
Specialized Fluids: Analyze CSF, serous, synovial, and seminal fluids to diagnose conditions ranging from meningitis to gout.
